And so to the evolution

For those of you who have not visited us in a while, you may not know that the cafe at 4/8 Banksia Drive has now closed. With 1 million things going on in the ever evolving life of our business, we decided it was time to shut up shop after 6 fabulous years - and turn our focus to all else that we do on a daily basis. We send our sincere and warmest thanks to all of you who have visited us over the years - whether a morning coffee and congee or a sticky pork roll with pickled Asian vegetables and a fish curry at lunch. Maybe you popped by a pop up - whatever the reason, thanks from us.

And so to the evolution…

We are about to celebrate 1 year of cooking happily away in the canteen at Stone & Wood Brewery. It’s been such a joy working with this epic local crew and we look forward to a busy Summer ahead and helping the folk of Byron and beyond celebrate in one of the area’s most beautiful venues, with one of the world’s great brewers.

In the world of catering, life goes on. No changes there. Weddings, parties, all of it…and with a busy 2020 ahead the running shoes are on.

To Bay Grocer. In late January this year we threw open the doors to our food store and cafe in Byron Bay township. In the fantastic space that was once Green Garage, we have thrown ourselves into the life of retail with full force - and loving it!!! Located right on the roundabout there as you head out of town, right opposite Spell…we have filled our shelves with the best of Byron - and the best of just about everywhere else. Food and food related products - and some general convenience items - you’ll find everything from fresh fruit and veggies including a great organic range from Boon Luck Farm, Hungry Earth Ecology and Conscious Ground - to the best pasta and pasta sauces from Italy, sardines and calamari in tins from Portugal, cheeses from France - and the Sunshine Coast - and Byron Bay, cookbooks, Traegar smokers, beautiful Japanese knives by Masaaki…and milk.

Out the front, the cafe serves Allpress coffee and croissants (sometimes filled with chocolate and strawberries) for breakfast alongside crumpets by Merna and our house bircher….then cakes and sweets and smoothies and roast pork and beautiful salads and sandwiches. And all the things. Oh, and roast chickens - even day! And sourdough from The Bread Social.

If you haven't visited us yet - please do. Christmas catering and hamper packages are now out and we are open right through the season (closed Christmas Day only). Doors swing open at 6.30am every morning and close at 7pm - 5pm on Sundays and public holidays.

Here’s to evolution!
